Carla Vercoe

January 3, 2013

Carla Vercoe has been the owner of Studio BE Pilates since the fall of 2008. After years of practicing and teaching Pilates as well as managing a studio, Carla realized that Pilates makes an outstanding core for a holistic approach to health and wellness.

In fact, Carla came to realize that Pilates is more than exercise—it’s a lifestyle. She set out to establish Studio BE Pilates as a wellness center. Her goal is to introduce her clients to health and wellness through mind/body training , nutrition and a healthy lifestyle.

While running the studio and teaching new instructors, Carla spent time building a team of health and wellness professionals who could wok at the studio to help clients supplement their Pilates routines with a range of wellness services: nutritional counseling, life coaching, and integrative health practices.

In 2015, Carla was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. While devastated at the diagnosis, she focused on educating survivors. She started a business offering Women’s Wellness retreats during which women focus on nurturing and healing themselves and having fun in beautiful exotic locations. After a year of healing therapies and surgeries, Carla is now cancer-free. She honors her journey by sharing her newfound knowledge with others.

Carla has a BA from the George Washington University. She received her PMA® Certification as a Pilates Teacher through Michele Larsson’s Core Dynamics, now run by former PMA president Kevin Bowen in Santa Fe, NM. Carla became a Master Instructor for Peak Pilates® in 2010. She became a Breast Cancer Exercise Specialist certified by the Pink Ribbon Program™ in 2016.

In her spare time, Carla enjoys networking with local women business owners and getting involved with charities close to her heart. She loves travelling and relaxing at home with her two favorite fluffy dogs, Clouseau and Sebastian.
