The retreat led by Shelly and Carla at Casa Om was a therapeutic & fun experience! After caring for my father during his illness and dealing with the grief after his death, I knew I needed to get away but wasn’t in the mood for a typical
girls trip. Even though I didn’t really know what to expect, at a friends urging I signed up. I went in with an open mind and set out to participate in as many of the talks, yoga, Pilates, excursions, massages & other activities as time would permit. I was hoping to come home rested but was happily surprised that I was refreshed both physically & mentally. The food prepared daily by the chef was fresh, delicious and nutritious! I looked forward to the communal meals and hearing about everyone’s experiences during the day. I had a fantastic time. Grab a friend and sign up, have an open mindset, participate and, for once, choose to take care of yourself. Each of us needs to refuel from time to time and I can’t think of a better place to do it than Casa Om.
Last year’s retreat to Casa Om was the first time I truly let go and allowed myself to connect with my soul and not worry about anything else. The staff of Casa Om were gracious as well as inspiring. Carla and Shelly created an incredible adventure that was ours to fully participate in, or sit out whenever we felt the need. The mix of incredible women was wonderful. I came away refreshed, enlightened, and forever grateful for the blissful week I was allowed to just BE me.
Our retreat this past spring to Casa Om was, in many ways, a new beginning for me. Prior to the retreat I had experienced several personal loses, including the death of my beautiful son. The description of the retreat “six days of relaxation and rejuvenation of the mind, body and spirit” sounded like a much needed respite/escape for me.
The warm sun, water and sand were all restorative for the mind and spirit. There were so many new experiences to heal the body and soul – the Mayan Healer, wonderful massages, meals that were prepared by our “personal” chef, meditation, I could go on and on.
The retreat pampered out bodies, souls and spirit. The week was a magical journey shared by supportive beautiful friends. I look forward to our 2017 Retreat to continue my healing.
